The GHOST Orb Of Crossett Arkansas - Multiple Videos Offer Proof
In the past week, UDCC searched heavily into YouTube for `UFO' videos from Arkansas and the results were numerous - http://ufodisclosurecountdownclock.blogspot.com/2011/07/arkansas-ufo-videos-including-tv-report.html and as I indicated in that post - more remained. And, I was going to run this post in BS (barf stew) one of my other blogs - but, upon researching it a bit more - the story of the Crossett Light certainly deserves a more respectful setting at UDCC, as UDCC LOVES the whole ORB phenomena. (Hit the `orbs' label in the label section for much more.)
Anyway, one of the ideas UDCC talks about for ORBs is that some of them are possible human spirits, or some sort of entities that `haunt' - ie: read, `visit' certain areas or localities on a spontaneous basis and eventually they do it so often it becomes a local legend. And, had I not searched for Arkansas on YT in that manner, I doubt I'd be running this accounting of the legend. (Starting to feel a bit like Lon Strickler and how he puts together these accounts - indeed, I hope he hasn't covered this yet and wouldn't be surprised if he did as others have. Nonetheless, I am not familiar and hope that the vast majority of my readers aren't either.)
First up is how I became familiar - a YT video of a VERY worried girl talking to her dad as the Crossett Light is just up ahead in the road. - 5,900+ views - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=d98QGSjM4ec
Not only that, as you saw in the video - she's had TWO experiences with the Light. Her account shows no slant in the anomalous direction - just a 21 year old girls contact with the unknown. http://www.youtube.com/user/kcwilliams52#p/u I also loved her `oldtime' common idea that these Ghosts were carrying Lanterns (paraphrasing, as she just said it looked like that).
--------------------------------------------------
Now, the above video encouraged a look up on Goggle of this phenomena as the doubters, of course, were numerous on her YT comments page for the video; so I did. But, before that - on YT, I could see that more videos of the Crossett Orb were available - like this one - 1,100+ views - http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=Qfh_H34oCtY (just in case)
And, the above video is one of TWO about the Crossett Ghost Light this 39 year old YT user has - http://www.youtube.com/user/TheCmp71. To me, this Crossett Ghost is more `orblike' in it's flickering than the first video shown above.
============
But, then, I discovered yet a third video, yet another YT user, very very much like the first video: 393 views. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsp2GjAX8V4
the above video is one of five on the 18 year olds YT channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/barboyte322#p/u
=====================
Now, if you want to know the `story' behind the Light - this video tells it and has a few seconds of possible video too - is the Crossett light the lantern of a heartbroken wife who saw her husband beheaded? - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD4UUc4tUM4
===============
Here's yet another account - with picture - of the light AND an account of 3 UFOs years ago - http://smokeschool.net/crossettlight.htm from a self described old hippie.
================
Here's the legend re-told with a different twist than the mourning for a husband - http://www.roadsideamerica.com/tip/45

And here are NINE first hand accounts - http://www.ghostlights.org/node/9

Other accounts - http://www.undergroundozarks.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6493; Twenty similiar locations of Ghost Lights in the world, most in the USA - http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_light and finally a collection of links just about the Crossett Light - http://crossett.thorntonausten.com/links.htm

Grid Tied Solar - UDCC's Solar Focus Section
2011, the year to explore solar terms and prices - go for it.
Hmmm. Growing up in extreme southwest Arkansas, I always heard about the Gurdon lights, as opposed to any several counties away in Crossett ...
ReplyDeleteIn Australia there have been many such reports through the years, dispersed widely around the country. However, the most enduring, and best known manifestation of the Australian "ghost light" genre is the famous Min Min Light. Elsewhere around the world, possibly similar phenomena go by various evocative names, such as "jack-o'-lantern", "ignis fatuus" (foolish fire), "fairy lights", "will-o' the-wisp", and "ghost lights". Many are called by their locational identities, such as the "Waimea lights" (Hawaii), the "Marfa ghost light" (Texas, USA) and the Brown Mountain Lights (North Carolina, USA). The local aboriginal people say that this "elemental spirit" will not hurt you. For more information. See the link to http://www.theozfiles.com/min_min_lights.html
ReplyDeleteGef, - thanks for your comment; indeed, I too saw some videos for the Gurdon Lights.
ReplyDeleteGreg, thanks for those cool links.

The before mentioned site at thorntonausten.com contains several articles on both the Crossett and Gurdon ghost lights
